Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross in Gácsi

Building, structure

The Catholic church is located on the right side of the entrance to the castle. Its construction began around 1822 and was completed 12 years later. It was consecrated on October 18, 1835 by Bishop János Scitovsky in honor of the finding of the Holy Cross. It is a single-nave building with two towers above the entrance. The painting on its high altar depicts the finding of the Holy Cross, which was consecrated on November 15, 1889. It is the work of the Nógrád painter Lajos Kubányi (1885–1912).
