Finta Anna Cross (Mater Dolorosa)
Sacral small monument
The stone cross from 1833, which today stands on the side of the nave (north) of the St. George Church, was originally the main cross of the Újfalu cemetery, which operated between 1780 and 1961, and was erected by Anna Finta twelve years before her death to replace the former Kondé wooden cross, which had already been damaged by then. After the closure of the main cemetery in the 1950s, the Finta cross was not moved to the new Kisudvarnok Street cemetery, but to the church garden, along with other small sacral monuments and statues, by the political authorities of the time.
