Aurél Fest was born in Szepesváraljá (Szepes county) on April 15, 1829, the son of merchant Sámuel Fest and Aszpázia Kuna. German (zipper), non-noble, Lutheran Jurátus. (His wife became Julianna Kovács, died in Buda, 1871.) ; September 24 (October 1) 1848 - lieutenant in the 26th battalion of the Hungarian army organized in Eger. At the end of December, he was assigned with his unit to the Upper Tisza (later I.) Corps. He fought throughout the winter and spring campaigns. May 14 (April 16) 1849 - first lieutenant. At the beginning of June, he was transferred to the 95th battalion organized in Eger. Finally, he was a captain in the Central Tisza army, and in the main army concentrated at Szeged. ; On 24 Jan 1850, he was conscripted into the 7th Light Cavalry Regiment, and was discharged on 10 May 1852. After the compromise, he was the mayor of Szepesváralja, and as a lieutenant (? !) he was a member of the Szepes County Military Association. He died in Szepesváralja in 1908.
