Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima
Sacral small monument
The chapel of Our Lady of Fatima was built in front of house number 222 at the initiative of its former resident, the widow Anna Szabóné Tóth, daughter. In 2011, in a July issue of the Catholic weekly magazine Remény, Mária Juhász reported that Mons. Péter Dobos, the parish priest, blessed the small chapel erected in honor of the Virgin of Fatima in Lukanénye, which the Višňovsky couple had built in the family's flower garden. Anna Szabó, who lived in house number 222, was a great devotee of Mary. She prayed to the Virgin Mary daily in front of her own home altar, and corresponded with Father Konrád of Fatima for a long time. After her death, her daughter had a beautiful little chapel built on an artificial stone foundation with her husband to commemorate her mother's devotion to Mary. The semicircular-ended sacral monument was built of natural stone. The niche of the building is closed by a beautiful wooden frame with a glazed door. Our Lady of Fatima appears before us in the usual depiction: in a long white cloak edged with gold, with a crown on her head, a rosary in her hands clasped in prayer, and doves at her feet.
