Statue of the Sorrowful Virgin Mary (Pieta)

The Italian word Pieta means pity in Hungarian. Jesus taken down from the cross in the arms of his mother, the Virgin Mary. The statue was erected in 1847 by Ferencz Sebő. Before the construction of the church in Csiliznyárad, the Catholics of Csiliznyárad held the May evening litanies at this statue. The statue stands in the churchyard.
