Graveyard Chapel of the Virgin Mother of Sorrows
Building, structure
The lower part of the chapel's facade is square, with a stone-framed door ending in a semicircular arch in the middle. Each side is decorated with a grayish, rounded column. The small hussar tower rises from the tympanum above the door, with a small bell inside and semicircular sound holes on the sides. The tower has a pointed, pyramid-shaped red tin helmet, a wavy roof cornice closing the facade on both sides, and at the bottom you can read this inscription carved in stone: "Founded/ in 1926". The chapel was built by the widow Ferencné Verbók Katalin Kovács and had it built by master Imre Tóth for 10,000 crowns. There are also benches in the small nave, and a large statue of the Virgin of Sorrows can be seen on its altar. Mary is wearing a white veil and a blue cloak, holding the dead Jesus in her lap, whose head is turned to the left, onto her mother's shoulder. The altar also housed a crucifix and other statues (Baby Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Our Lady of Fatima, and Our Lady of Lourdes).
