János Fabriczy (Poprád, May 13, 1800 – Levoca, May 13, 1865) was the chief engineer of the county. ; András Fabriczy was the son of the Lutheran pastor, archdeacon, and Klára Augustin Ab hortis. He studied in his hometown, Késmárk and Levoca, and completed his university studies in Pest in 1819 and in Vienna in 1820–1821. After working for Raisz, the chief engineer of the Szepes county, for a year, in 1823 he was appointed engineer of the Orva estate. From 1830 to 1849 he was the chief engineer of Szepes county. He rendered excellent services to the cause of the homeland in the War of Independence, for which he suffered several months of imprisonment. Then he dealt with the division of larger estates, dedicating his free time to science, nature and politics. In 1860 he was again elected chief engineer of Szepes County, from which position he resigned in 1861 with the advent of the Schmerling provisorium and returned to his previous retirement. Working for the progress of Szepes County, he influenced its culture and public affairs, and was fond of the High Tatras, whose individual peaks and valleys he repeatedly visited and explored. ; ; Articles: ; The measured heights of the Central Carpathians and regions (Uj M.
