Evangelical church in Kuntapolca
Building, structure
The early classicist style Evangelical church in the center of the village was built in 1805. It is a west-east oriented, single-nave, gable-roofed building, today covered with metal sheeting. The tower, crowned with a double dome, built against the eastern front wall of the church, is connected to the body of the church by an arched surface, which is surrounded by a cornice. ; The succession of Prussian vaults divides the church space into several units. Finally, the half-pillars holding the straps make this more structured than usual. Its arcaded portico is built of stone, the parapet of which is decorated with stucco and rosettes, spoiling the already poor lighting. ; The church stands out mainly for its wall paintings above the altar, which depict people who fought for the rights of the Protestant religion. On the right is Martin Luther (1483-1546), the founder and preacher of the Reformed Church. To his left is István Bocskai (1557-1606), the Transylvanian prince and leader of the anti-Habsburg uprising, who partly fought for the equality and acceptance of Protestantism. He is followed by György Rákóczi (1593-1648), the spreader of the Reformed religion, who was Gábor Bethlen's right-hand man in the anti-Habsburg uprisings. On the far left, the murals depict Dr. Philipp Melanchthon, philosopher and church reformer (1497-1560). ; ;  ,
