Evangelical church

Vince Pölhös writes in his village chronicle that the Evangelical church was built in the ancient Greek style in 1933 from charitable donations during the time of pastor Vilmos Raab and churchwarden Mihály Czibulya. In fact, the congregation bought the land from Erzsébet Mihályné Benkó at that time, on which, based on the plans of a Czech architect, under the leadership of local master mason Vince Kiss, they began building the church, which was completed in 1934. On October 14 of that year, the building was consecrated by Samuel Licko, dean of Zvolen. The tower originally looked different, with a semicircular end. The organ was given to the congregation in Léva, and the pulpit and altarpiece were donated to the church by Vilmos Raab. The benches were made by local Evangelicals. The small bell, which was once donated to the church by the Tersztyánszkys of Ipolynagyfalus, and which was in a bell tower near the present-day Catholic church, was brought here, and the other was bought by the faithful... The old tower was rebuilt in 1965... Repairs were also carried out in 1973... The church faces east. On its altarpiece we can see Jesus in a long white dress and a burgundy cloak, knocking on a door. The painting hangs between two tall, imitation marble columns...
