Memorial plaque on the wall of the town hall
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
On October 10, 1944, the extreme right-wing Arrow Cross party came to power in Dunaszerdahely, who executed seven people. Their memory is preserved by the memorial plaque next to the entrance to the town hall. ; Previously, from 1954, this memorial plaque stood on an obelisk-like monument, which was erected on the site of the Martyrs' Monument in today's Szent István Square. In 1971, a work by János Nagy was placed there, and the obelisk itself commemorating the communist martyrs disappeared, but the black marble plaque was moved to the wall of the town hall.
