Statue, monument, memorial plaque
The sculpture of the Keszegfalva World War I memorial is the work of Gyula Berecz. Gyula Berecz from Komárom created several heroic monuments for the settlements around Komárom in the period between the two world wars. His works are in Udvard, Keszegfalva, Megyercs, Nemesócsa, and Diószeg in Mátyusföld. For Komárom, he created the World War I memorial plaque combined with a relief inaugurated in the St. Andrew's Church, as well as the relief plaque originally inaugurated on the wall of the former neolog synagogue in Komárom and later moved to the ceremonial hall of the Jewish cemetery. With the exception of the statue depicting the Nemesócsa lion, all of his works feature the figure of a wounded and dying soldier, while the dying soldier in the Keszegfalva statue essentially forms the soldier forming the group of statues seen on the Udvard memorial.
