Dusinszky Lipót, cathedral conductor, church music writer, born in Szupihora, Bohemia, in 1833, from where he left for Hungary in the late 1840s and has since served the artistic interests of our country in Nyitra, where he also completed his schooling and where he first worked as a cantor teacher and private tutor, until in 1863 he was appointed conductor of the Nyitra episcopal cathedral and still works in this position today. The number of his church music works is considerable and he also wrote several secular songs, male and mixed choirs, most of which were published in the music journal «Apollo» of Fellegi V., which flourished in the 1970s, of which he was one of the most diligent contributors. His papal hymn in eight parts, which he composed for the jubilee of Pope Leo XIII, and for which he also received a medal from the Pope, is of great value.
