Danube Spring, Slovak Hungarian national children's puppet and theater festival

The Spring by the Danube is the largest children's puppet and theater festival of the Hungarians in Slovakia. It has been organized annually since 1976. Initially, it was organized by the National Cultural Institute (Národné osvetvé centrum) and the Dunaszerdahely District Folk Culture Center, then from 1982 by the Csemadok, and from 1996, the Slovak Hungarian Cultural Institute, commissioned by the National Council of the Csemadok, has been the main organizer of the festival. It is organized jointly with its co-organizers, the Dunaszerdahely Municipality, and the Dunaszerdahely Csaplár Benedek Municipal Cultural Center. ; ; Approximately 40-45 teams apply to the festival each year, compete in six semi-finals, and the jury selects 27-30 teams for the national final. ; ; Characterization of the festival: ; Amateur children's puppetry and acting is the presentation of the creative activity of groups and individuals (puppet soloists) throughout the year in the puppeteer, actor and edited plays category (an edited play is any performance that is prepared and realized by editing works of different genres into an independent unit). ; The festival is one of the events with an ascending system. After the nominations, national semi-finals will take place. ; ; Categories of the festival: - puppeteer, actor and edited plays category. ; Method of evaluating the competition: ; Composition of the jury: Hungarian and Hungarian professionals. At the request of partner institutions, the jury may delegate a group to prestigious acting festivals (Weöres Sándor Acting Festival, etc.). ; ; Announced awards, rankings: ; Awards of the national final: ; – The talented team award:Ensures the participation of a beginner but talented group in the national final for the next year. ; – István Dusza Award:based on the results achieved in the movement, an individual award, one can be awarded per year in the puppet or acting category. The decision is made by the theater and puppetry professional sections of the main director. ; – Professional awards – qualifications: – The groups receive the gold, silver and bronze bands qualification, the award of which is decided by the jury – Director’s award, individual award. ; ;
