He was born in Dereske (now Slovakia) on November 11, 1949. He studied privately with Béla Bacskai and Gyula Szabó (1961-1967), attended the Bratislava High School of Applied Arts between 1967-1968, and graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Prague in 1979, under Prof. František Jiroudek. He found his artistic expression primarily in landscape painting, and is considered a painter of the Gömör landscape. He remained attached to his immediate homeland throughout his life, but he lived his everyday life intensively, traveling a lot between Prague, Bratislava and Budapest. His works were not recognized during his lifetime, he is the type of “outcast artist”, for whom only his faith in art and deep convictions mattered. He is often called “The Icarus of Gömör who fell to the ground”. Nowadays, more and more people are beginning to recognize his significance and deep humanity. He died very young, on June 23, 1987, in Tornalján. ; His drawings and illustrations were already appearing in Hungarian newspapers in Slovakia during his studies. ; He participated in group exhibitions in Slovakia from 1977. He organized his first solo exhibition in Dunaszerdahely in 1978. In the following decade, he had solo exhibitions in many cities in Slovakia, including Komárom, Bratislava, and Prague.
