Dr. Zoltán Pázmány Memorial House
Building, structure
Sándor Puss, a Jesuit monk from the Highlands, spent five years looking for a suitable place to establish the Pázmány Memorial House, where he also wanted to create a Péter Pázmány memorial room. ; He had previously been unsuccessful in Nagyszombat, nor in the Jesuit church named after St. Andrew in Komárom, where they could also find a worthy place. He had almost given up on the dream of one day coming true when he came across the village of Szilas. ; “First I thought of the Jesuit László Szilas, that we would arrange a memorial room in his honor, where I could also place my Pázmány library, but when it turned out that the village could actually be proud of Dr. Zoltán Pázmány, the idea for a joint Pázmány Memorial House was born,” said Sándor Puss, a Jesuit monk from the Highlands. ; Zoltán Pázmány was a doctor of law and philosophy, and a professor at the Law Academy. He died in Szilas in 1948. He wrote many original, translated fiction and professional articles in the newspapers of Komárom, Szekszárd, Bács-Topolya, Kecskemét, Pécs and Debrecen, and several of his original poems translated from French, German, Italian, English, Swedish and Russian poets were published in Győri Közlöny and Jog. ; Péter Tóth, the mayor of Szilas, supported the idea. “I managed to rent a warehouse in poor condition from the village for 10 years, which we transformed into a pleasant chapel together, with voluntary work, and we did all this in half a year, we built the memorial house without any funding from tenders.” – said Sándor Puss. ; The opening ceremony of the newly built Dr. Zoltán Pázmány Memorial House took place on September 12, 2015. Péter Tóth, mayor of Szilas, invited the initiator of the construction of the memorial house, Jesuit monk Sándor Puss, to cut the ribbon of the memorial house. ; Father Puss said that the 10 years he has at his disposal are starting well. The bar has been set very high. The Holy Crown was only exhibited here for one day, but three wonderful enamel paintings, works by the artist Margit Fehér from Subotica, can still be seen in the memorial house. After these valuable works of art also leave the memorial house, new and new temporary exhibitions are planned. ; “Since we are in the immediate vicinity of the kindergarten, I would like to focus on children, family and child-rearing, and plan exhibitions related to this. It is a big challenge, but anyone who knows me knows that I like to make seemingly impossible ideas and dreams come true,” added Father Puss.
