Tomb of István Dobó
Cemeteries, tombstones, graves
The Roman Catholic Church of Dobóruszka, dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, was built by the Dobó family around 1500. The church took its current form in 1797, during the reconstruction at that time, and thus the building became two-nave. István Dobó, the captain of the Eger castle defense, was buried here in 1572. His marble Renaissance sarcophagus was made by his son and placed in the sanctuary. The side panels of the tombstone that can still be seen here today are original, but the famous cover is only a copy. ; ; The place can be visited if a representative of the church is contacted.
