Csaky Castle in Magyarbél

Postcard

Here stands the largest castle in Slovakia, built by Bishop Count Imre Csáky between 1722 and 1725 in the Baroque style. It was hit in 1945, when the facade was damaged and the roof burned down. It was restored between 1958 and 1961. With towers at each corner of the castle, a main tower, a magnificent staircase and a ballroom, and contemporary frescoes, it is a magnificent sight. A social home operated there until 2006. (wikipedia)
