Ksomószentek

A rare iconographically speaking, late Baroque sculpture group in the center of the village, carved from soft stone, with a colored surface. On the simple, square-based, columnar pedestal decorated with cornices, there are three full-figure, approximately half-life-size statues with their backs to each other. The figures are saints who often appear in public works of the 18th-19th centuries: Saint John of Nepomuk, Saint Wendel and Saint Florian. The unknown artist depicted the saints in their usual attire and with their usual attributes. Florian, depicted in Roman military officer armor, with breastplate, helmet, and a flag in his left hand, the patron saint of fire fighting, pours water from a bucket onto the fire with his right hand. Saint Wendel appears as a shepherd, with a lamb at his feet and a hooked shepherd's staff in his hand. Saint John of Nepomuk, the patron saint of the sacrament of confession, is depicted in his usual priestly attire, a white collar, cloak, and stole, with a biretta on his head. He holds a crucifix and a prayer book in his hand.
