Alajos Cséfalvai Cséfalvay, a retired captain of the Hungarian Royal Cavalry and a major in the 1848–49 Hungarian Army, an outstanding champion of the War of Independence and a prominent man of social life, died in Bratislava on February 26, at 8 pm, in his 90th year, due to a cold. The 90-year-old nobleman had been arguing about civil marriage with his fellow Hungarian Army soldiers in the “Toldy circle” in the morning, was in a good mood all afternoon, sang the Kossuth song with his grandson at 6 pm, then read a letter from his beloved daughter, then leaned back in his armchair to take a nap and fell asleep quietly and unnoticed forever.
