András Cházár Memorial Room

Building, structure

The András Cházár Foundation, founded in 1990, renovated the birthplace of András Cházár and transformed it into a Catholic church. The house regained its form from the last reconstruction. A new roof structure with a dark brown roof covering was added to the collapsed arches. A small bell tower rises from the roof in the northern part of the building, with a curved roof. The new bell is located here. Thus, the entire building slightly covers the facade of the new cultural center that was added. The church was built between 1995-1997 with public donations, and a memorial plaque was inaugurated at the entrance in 2007. On September 21, 1995, on the 250th anniversary of András Cházár's birth, two new memorial plaques made of gray marble were ceremoniously placed on the left side of the door on the northern side wall, at the entrance to the András Cházár memorial room. ; ; Life: ; András Császár (Jólész, June 5, 1745 - Rozsnyó, January 28, 1816): lawyer, barrister, county notary, legal writer, advocate of the downtrodden and disabled, enthusiastic initiator of the establishment of the first Hungarian special education institution (the Deaf Education House in Vác, 1802).
