Tivadar Brolly, mayor of Bratislava, was born in Horpács on October 17, 1852. After passing the bar exam in Budapest, he settled in Bratislava as a practicing lawyer. In this capacity, he entered the service of the city and became a secondary notary, and then, on the occasion of the 1884 reorganization, a chief notary. In recognition of his merits, His Majesty awarded him the Knight's Cross of the Order of Franz Joseph in 1898. On April 18, 1900, the public confidence placed him in the mayor's chair. Later, he was awarded the title of royal councilor. ; Tivadar Brolly died on February 5, 1944. His tomb is located in sector I./2.
