Statue, monument, memorial plaque
Mihály Borsos was born on May 6, 1910 in Ipolykiskeszi. He prepared for the priesthood in Komárom and Nagyszombat. ; In 1942, parish priest Mihály Borsos took up his position as a Roman Catholic priest in Nagyfödémes (the local elementary school bears his name), where he took part in numerous actions to help the poor and the Hungarians, bravely stood up for his faith during the persecution of the church, did not stop, and also opposed the anti-church policy of the communist regime. ; After atheism became the official ideology, the church lost its previous social positions. The local state estate farmed the church lands, while the church buildings around the church came under the jurisdiction of public education. The village priest was kept under the watch of the state police as an enemy of the system. On June 26, 1949, to prevent a police atrocity against the parish priest, religious believers attacked plainclothes police officers. In retaliation, the gendarmes and militiamen sent to Galántá transported about 200 people, and then sentenced several of them to prison sentences to be served together with the parish priest. He was imprisoned in Lipótvár and Valdice. Mihály Borsos returned to the village in 1950. ; He died on August 17, 1974, his grave is located in Kisgyarmat. ; In his memory, in 1993, the Confederation of Slovak Political Prisoners placed a memorial plaque in Hungarian and Slovak on the outer wall of the church in Nagyfödémes.
