In the village of Izsap, a 20-man National Guard was formed in 1848 from men of different ages and occupations from Izsap. One of the National Guards was the Levite teacher Gergely Bölcskey, who was born in 1808 and joined the National Guard at the age of 40. His grave can be found in the Izsap cemetery today.
