Son of András Bittera, a commoner and Kata Dömös. Bél-Vatta, Pozsony m., 1825. Apr. 24., r. cat. Graduated from high school. Manor clerk in Cseklész. Unmarried. Wife 1858 - Franciska Földes from Guthori, died Gútor, 1907. ; In early June 1848 he became a volunteer at the 4th Home Guard Battalion formed in Pozsony. During the Transylvanian battles he was promoted to sergeant. 1849. Mar. (Feb. 16.) - Lieutenant at the 3rd battalion of the 37th Máriássy Infantry Regiment. May. 27. Lieutenant General Bem awarded him the 3rd class of the Military Merit Badge. Jun. 13 (5.) - First Lieutenant at his formation – which was then the 74th Home Guard Battalion – of the IV. (Bácskai) Corps. ; After the surrender, he was dismissed from Arad as unfit for conscription. 1867-1878. He was an orphan in Pozsony County, and later farmed his estate in Gútor until his death. † Gútor, Pozsony m., Jan. 29, 1894. ; Béla Bittera's well-kept grave, protected by a picket fence, can be found in the cemetery at the end of the village, next to the road leading to Somorja. ; Local Hungarians hold a festive commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of the first lieutenant on March 15.
