Betléri Lutheran Church
Building, structure
The church was built in 1786, following the decree of tolerance of Joseph II, in compliance with the regulations of the time, without a tower and bells. In 1826, it was expanded with a tower built in the classicist style. With the addition of the tower, the church received a new entrance. The original, bricked southern entrance has survived. At the end of the church's long, late Baroque façade, there is a columned altar, which is decorated with one of the most famous paintings of the Levoča painter József Czauczik, Christ and the Samaritan at the Well, from 1838.
