Bese Elek (1831 – 1872), 14th pastor of Madar; Bese Elek (1855 – 1872) was pastor of Madar for 17 years. The Madar congregation submitted a petition to the church district, in which they would like to have Mr. Bese Elek, pastor of Madar, removed. “They ask to be replaced by someone else, because … due to his constant illness his voice is weak, he does not forbid Sunday public work, when he was elected, the election document was signed by many people under duress, and his election was only for three years”. The Madar congregation was reprimanded for this petition.
