The village, together with the neighboring Dunadvany, annually organizes the Baróti Szabó Dávid Days, during which wreaths are laid at the memorial site.

Szabó Dávid Baróti / * 10.IV.1739 Baraolt (Barót) † 22.XI.1819 Virt / Hungarian language reformer poet, / translator, teacher and Jesuit priest. / From 1799 until his death, he lived in Virten, with his former / student, Benedek Pyber. / His grave is in the local cemetery.
