The students were on a study hunt when one of them's gun went off and fatally wounded his companion. The young man committed suicide. ; One of the most significant events in the life of the academic youth took place at this grave in 1875. On November 1, All Saints' Day, the Hungarian-minded students entrusted Ferenc Vörös, an open opponent of the Schachtists, with the task of giving a speech at the grave of their deceased fellow member of the Transylvanian Reading Circle, Dániel Barabás. Ferenc Vörös, who trusted in the truth of his ideas and the impact of his eloquence, raised the lofty idea of unification after the eulogy. As a result, the next day the German-minded bursch and the Hungarian students united in a common "Hungarian Society", and thus the Schachtists' cause was defeated.
