Our Lady of the Cross Roman Catholic Church in Balonyi

The Roman Catholic church of Balony Sarlós, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, was built in 1835 on the site of a thatched chapel consecrated in 1788. It was renovated in the early 1990s. Its polygonal presbytery is covered with a Bohemian barrel vault and its nave with a Prussian barrel vault. A red marble plaque was placed above its entrance when it was built. Its furnishings are largely from the 19th century, the oldest piece being an 18th century Madonna statue.
