Rudolf Balog (1923-1999) was born into a simple gypsy family. He learned the trade of a stonemason. He learned the violin and his love of music in the band of Anton György, or Toncsi, where he played for a long time. Later he founded his own band, and became the leader of the existing one. They played at weddings and balls, not only in his native village. “Rudko, the leader” was famous far and wide.
