The Bartal Cross in Ipolyvisk
Sacral small monument
The ornate column of the one-step, gray granite crucifix bears this dedication: "It was erected for the glory of God by Pál Bartal in 1922." This text was probably not originally on the column, as traces of an older inscription can be seen on it. Unfortunately, this is no longer legible - perhaps "and in memory of the heroes who fell in the World War" - D. E.'s comment. The pointed, brown iron body of the cross visible on the ornate column head depicts Christ's head with a crown of thorns turned to the right, with his legs next to each other. The crucifix is surrounded by a wrought iron fence.
