The old cemetery cross in Ipolybalog

I found the oldest information about crosses in Ipolybalog in the Historia Domus. For example, the parish priest recorded the following in 1849: “On July 22, three cross trees were blessed in Balog. 1. in the cemetery. 2. in front of Skerlecz’s house, 3. on the edge of Imre Balogi’s house towards Inám in the presence of many people.” (p. 32) A crucifix still stands in the place of the mentioned crosses today. ; ; The cross made of white artificial stone of the old cemetery was erected in the middle of the 19th century. It has a white iron body with a blue girdle, and on the pedestal it is written: “Török Antal Voszil / and his wife / Gyurász Katalin / erected it for the glory of God in 1858.” The cross was brought from the liquidated cemetery to the front of the chapel in 1978 by Canon Tibor Montskó and Father Máté Molnár.
