The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Érsekújvár

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in the second half of the 18th century. According to a legend, in 1709 the image of Mary, which is located here and is widely known and revered in the area, shed tears. The lattice separating the sanctuary is in Baroque style, and according to the year on it, it was made in 1780. Below it we can see Mary's monogram, which also appears on the facade of the chapel. There was once a cemetery next to the chapel, which was liquidated in 1866.
