The Chapel of Saint Anthony in Érsekújvár

The eclectic-style St. Anthony of Padua Chapel was built in 1913. Franz Joseph also provided financial support for the construction, donating 200 crowns from his private fund to the chapel. According to the inscription on the interior wall of the chapel: “This chapel was created by the efforts of Margit Antal and widow János Zeman née Mária Schindler, the latter of whom made a foundation of 600 crowns for its maintenance in 1913”. According to another memorial plaque above it: “Istvánné Döme, née Julianna Fujasz, the caretaker of the St. Anthony Chapel, spent 3,000, or three thousand CZK, on the renovation of the chapel in 1931”.
