Park of Remembrance
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
With the help of the Kamocsa local government, on August 28, 2004, for the 2nd Village Day, a “park of remembrance” was created in the courtyard of the village office, which is intended to commemorate the literary figures born and working in the village. In 2004, two granite tablets were placed on the stone statues to commemorate the educator “Andersen of Kamocsa” Pál Lukács (1803-1873) and the writer and librarian József (Géza) Baranyay (1876-1952). ; ; In 2006, for the 4th Village Day, the number of memorial tablets increased by one, in memory of the poet and critic Péter Vörös (1947-2004), who had died young in the meantime. In 2007, the 4th memorial plaque was also put in place, which commemorates the poet and war writer Kálmán Pap (1853-1934). The 5th memorial plaque commemorates the pedagogical writer and teacher János Pethes (1857-1921). ; ; The plane tree in the memorial park was planted by the village management on May 1, 2004, in memory of Hungary's accession to the European Union. ; The headstone erected in the "Memorial Park" praises the work of the woodcarvers Béla Illés and Dezső Izsák from Szímő and was made by the local government for the 6th Village Day in 2008.
