Along the main street, at the corner of Ján Amos Komensky Street and SNP Street, stands the monument to the residents of Nagysalló, Kissalló and Hölvény who fell in World War II. The monument was built on the site of a bombed-out house. The black granite monument consists of three obelisks. The middle part was unveiled earlier, on August 20, 2006, on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the first written mention of the village, and in memory of the residents of Nagysalló, ; Kissalló and Hölvény who fell in World War II. Seventy-six men from Nagysalló died on the Eastern Front, their names were engraved by the master stonemason Gyula Tóth from Zselíz in the stone block carved according to the plans of the engineer Gyula Szűcs from Zselíz. ; In 2014, they began to complete the monument on two sides. On the right side is the memorial to the victims of Nagysalló, Kissalló and Hölvény who fell in World War I, which was solemnly inaugurated on August 23, 2015, and on the left side is the memorial to the Serbian prisoners of war who died and were buried in the village during World War I. A small bell was also placed on top of the middle part. ; The names of the fallen, all Hungarians, appear on the memorial. The other obelisk also commemorates the Serbian prisoners of war who died in the village during World War I.
