The former county hall and the Petőfi memorial plaque
Building, structure
Szent-Ivány Castle. ; It is certainly one of the oldest settlements in Gömör county. Its name is of Turkish origin. According to some opinions, its castle existed as early as the time of the conquest. In the Middle Ages and the early modern period, the most significant noble families of the country owned estates here: Máiássy, Perényi, Szapolyay, Wesselényi, Csáky. ; The most significant building in the village, the rectangular, one-story, mansard-roofed, shingle-covered castle, was built on the site of a former mansion, no later than the middle third of the 18th century. Its seven-axis western facade is divided by a shallow but rich plaster decoration, crowned with a tympanum at the top. The fields above the windows are decorated with various plaster reliefs. These are no longer original in their current form, but are restored details based on a survey made in the 1970s. The castle, which is now in good condition after a restoration that took about 25 years, was once surrounded by a magnificent park, of which almost nothing remains today. ; In 1845, Sándor Petőfi spent a night here in the village inn.
