The Apátújfalus belfry

Within the framework of the project "Bells Know No Borders" (Hungary-Slovakia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2007-2013), the modern village center was created through the cooperation of the Tereny ARTTÉKA Art Without Borders Association, the Balassagyarmat Penitentiary and Prison and the Apátújfalu Municipality. ; An island was created by regulating the water management of the stream and building a dam, to which a rising walkway leads from the municipality building. The walkway continues with a wooden bridge, which continues to rise to the bell tower and the viewing pond created on the island. ; The bell tower in Apátújfalu was built in 2014 based on the designs of Tereny-born Miklós Ybl Prize winner Tamás Karaba.
