During the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848/49, three men from the Izsap settlement: Corporal Ferencz Beke, Private János Kovács and Lieutenant József Rédly fought for the defense of the Hungarian homeland in the army of Lajos Kossuth. In their memory, the Izsap IQUS Civic Society had a headstone erected in the Izsap cemetery on March 24, 2013.
