The translation of "Árpád vezér szobra" to English is "Statue of Chief Árpád."

The city of Nagymegyer was named after the conquering Hungarian tribe, Megyer, whose leader was Prince Árpád. In memory of this, the Nagymegyer Organization of the Csemads and the Nagymegyer City Government had it erected on the occasion of the 740th anniversary of the first written mention of the settlement. The ceremonial unveiling of the statue took place on October 25, 2008, on the occasion of the meeting of the Megyer settlements of the Carpathian Basin. The wooden statue was made by Géza Nagy from Csicsó and Attila Farkas from Budapest.
