Cemeteries, tombstones, graves
The Tejfalus Jewish community is the oldest congregation of the Moses religion in Felső-Csallóköz. It existed as early as the 1700s, was the center of the rabbinate, had its own school, and kept a registry. Its registry district included 27 settlements, whose believers attended the Tejfalus synagogue and buried their dead in the cemetery here. ; The population of Tejfalus in 1828 was 1021, of which 422 were of the Jewish religion, in 1851 the population was 869, of which 329 were Jews, in 1919 the total population was 597, of which 43 were Jews. ; The Tejfalus Jewish cemetery is the largest cemetery in Felső-Csallóköz. Since the 1920s, no burials have been held in this cemetery. The cemetery was laid out in the 1930s, but its decline began during World War II and continued in the following decades. The cemetery is almost entirely covered in Hebrew inscriptions. Some of the descendants of the deceased visit the cemetery annually and place memorial stones on the gravestones.
