The Holy Trinity Statue
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
The common owners of the Upper and Al-Baka villages committed themselves to maintaining the Holy Trinity Statue (mentioned in the sources as "image of the Holy Trinity" ) placed between Fel- and Al-Baka in a founding letter dated April 16, 1871. They promised to rebuild it in the event of its collapse, or to preserve its condition in an ornate and appropriate manner together with their legal successors: ; ; “We, the noble owners of Upper and Lower Baka, intending to maintain the image of the Holy Trinity currently standing on the lawn between the two Bakas for eternity and, in the event of its collapse in the course of time, to rebuild it, we, in accordance with the order of the ecclesiastical authority, commit ourselves and our legal successors to its future, ornamental and fitting maintenance for eternity, for which we authorize the present and future superiors to consider it their duty to perform it at the expense of the treasury of the common property whenever its renovation is necessary. For the greater credit of which we issue our present founding letter, confirmed by our signatures. Dated in Baka, April 16, 1871.” ; ; The signatories: Juror József Albert, Juror Károly Ocsvay, Public Landlord Ignátz Nogell, Juror Ágoston Jankó, Juror Sándor Aranyosi, Juror István Fitos and Lieutenant Dániell Fitos. ; ; The financial situation of the foundation made by the public landowners of Baka can be traced back to 1943. According to the account prepared by the former Baka parish priest József Schill, regarding the parish foundation fund, the Holy Trinity Statue Foundation had 12 pengs in share capital and 48 pengs in working capital, a total of 60 pengs, two years before the end of World War II. ; ; After 1945, it is thanks to the work and cooperation of the Baka parish priest Károly Horváth and the faithful that the statue can be seen in its present form.
