Monument to the War of Independence

The 1848-49 monument is located along the main street of the city, on the square in front of the cultural center. The dome stands on four columns. The simplicity of the simple domed column composition is characterized by the fact that only the date is inscribed under the dome: 1848-49. On March 15, the people of Zselíz traditionally pay their respects by laying wreaths at the memorial site. The designer and creator of the monument is László Szilágyi Jr., a visual artist from Zselíz. The work was inaugurated in a ceremony on March 15, 2002.
