In 2003, the Lekenye primary school had to be closed, and there is no kindergarten in the village. ; The school building houses the pensioners' club, and the former kindergarten behind the Lutheran church has been converted into a local history room, dominated by a loom, and many other tangible relics of old peasant life fill the wall-sized local history house.
