Church and Convent of the Sisters of Notre-Dame in Bratislava
Building, structure
The very small, chapel-like Notre-Dame Church (Our Lady) is located in the Old Town. The building was built in 1754 in Baroque style. In the former convent - the foundation stone of which was laid on May 13, 1750 - Augustinian nuns lived and also ran an elementary school (still a primary school today). The first residents of the convent, residents from Regensburg who were involved in the education and upbringing of women, moved into the new building on July 17, 1754, in the presence of Queen Maria Theresa and her husband, Emperor Francis I.
