The Németh mill

The Németh mill was built as a ship mill in 1884, converted into a pile-powered water mill in 1906, and then in 1916, as part of its modernization, an additional superstructure was installed. The entire production technology has been preserved in the building, which was mainly represented by factory-made equipment: the grinding mill, the huller, the trier - the cleaner -, the sieve line and the conveyor elevators. The drive was provided by a two-gear water wheel. The mill operated until 1951. Its last owner, Ernő Németh, owned it until 1973. After that, it became the property of the Museum of National History in Galanta. The renovation work of the dilapidated building was carried out by the municipal government between December 1, 1992 and August 28, 1994, under the direction of millwright János Matyica. The rebuilt pile-built watermill stands one and a half kilometers from the village, on the left bank of the Kis-Danube, in Közrét.
