The Nagyszombat Town Hall

The ornate balcony of the attractive town hall rests on huge columns. The town hall has stood on this site since ancient times. The current building in the Copf style was erected in 1793, as the chronosticon on the balcony shows: IVstItIae atqVe secVrItatI pVbLICae eX fVnDaMentIs posIta. ; Here are the premises of the town authorities and part of the town archives. Its great hall is decorated with portraits of some rulers, as well as portraits of Primates Szelepcsényi and Simor.
