A Hungarian Royal Polish Officers' Collection Camp operated in the village between 1939 and 1944. The history of the camp and its inhabitants is chronicled with meticulous accuracy in a thick volume written in Hungarian and Polish. A memorial plaque on one of the external walls of the former border guard barracks, which also houses the village hall, commemorates the peaceful, friendly coexistence of the soldiers and the villagers. ; The memorial plaque was created on February 23, 2012 by the Ipolyhídvég Municipality, the Order of Saint George - Visegrád and the Kultsár István Social Sciences and Publishing Foundation.
