The Air Roman Catholic Church
Building, structure
The Roman Catholic church was built in 1679 by Prince Primate György Szelepcsényi to replace a medieval church that had been destroyed during the Turkish period. ; The interior of the Roman Catholic church consists of a single nave and a polygonal sanctuary. The statue of Saint Elizabeth on the main altar dates back to the late 17th century. The Baroque pulpit is the same age as the building, while the side altars of King Saint Stephen, the Pieta and the Virgin Mary were built in the early 19th century. The stone statue of a veiled female figure can still be seen on the outer wall of the presbytery.
