The Lakszakállas Castle
Building, structure
It is located next to the Roman Catholic church and, along with the Reformed church, is a significant monument of the village. The originally Baroque-style building was built by Count Amade Tádé of Bősi in the second half of the 18th century. He obviously did not live in this castle, it was probably the residence of the estate managers. Later, the Amades leased this part of their estate to the Ghyczy family. József Ghyczy bought the land together with the castle. The castle was rebuilt in the first half of the 19th century in the classicist style, so it became the central place of the local branch of the Ghyczy family. At the beginning of the 20th century, Terézia Ghyczy, wife of Pál Ordódy, sold the estate and the castle to Dr. Vilmos Nagy, and it was his property until 1945. After that, the building served various administrative purposes. Today it houses a shop and the police district department. The park next to the castle has been abolished. ; The castle is an elongated single-storey building with a storey projection in the middle. The main facade is now divided only by the wall strips and the elongated windows, the latter were originally surrounded by wall frames with cornices below the windows. The original pilasters held an Ionic cornice and beams, and there were geometric figures on the parapets of the windows. The castle area could once be entered through an arched Baroque-style gate, above which was the coat of arms of Tádé Amade and his wife, Angéla Nyári. The corridor is covered by an arch, and the interior of the castle has been completely rebuilt.
